Welcome to my author page. My name is Dr. Miguel Sánchez-Valverde, and I work as Professor of Veterinary Surgery in the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery of the prestigious University of Murcia.

My area of knowledge focuses on Animal Medicine and Surgery, a field that has been my passion and dedication throughout my professional career.
Academic Experience
My career in the field of Veterinary Medicine began in 1980, when I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zaragoza. Subsequently, in 1982, I specialized in Applied and Experimental Animal Surgery, and in 1983 in Reproduction and Artificial Insemination, both also at the University of Zaragoza.
In 1984, I managed to obtain my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the same university, being distinguished with the qualification of “Outstanding laude”. Since then, I have continued to rise in my academic career, becoming Professor of Veterinary Surgery at the University of Murcia in 1985, and finally, reaching the position of University Professor in 1991, where I continue to practice today.
Contributions and Memberships
Throughout my career, I have had the honor of being a member of AOVet International (Association of Veterinary Osteosynthesis) since 1995, as well as a member of AO Spain (Association of Osteosynthesis of Medicine) since 2001. These partnerships have given me the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with prominent colleagues in the field of veterinary surgery nationally and internationally.
Current Focus
Currently, I dedicate my time completely to teaching at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Murcia, where I teach fundamental subjects such as Clinical Medicine and Surgery and Equine Surgery. My goal is to transmit to the new generations of veterinarians the most up-to-date knowledge and techniques in the field of veterinary medicine and surgery.
In addition, I continue to be dedicated to research, focusing on issues related to Veterinary Traumatology and the implementation of Veterinary Neurosurgery techniques. My purpose is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these areas to improve the quality of life and welfare of animals.
